Evolve your core training and take it to the next level! Fusing elements of Pilates, experience an integrated approach to moving from your powerhouse and the relationship to total body strength, balance and power. Tackle your complete core in 6 body positions and walk away with fun, functional and unique ideas to add to your programming and classes using the BOSU® Balance Trainer. Dive deep into core stability and mobility as you learn movement complexes and strategies to build core strength, as well as improve performance and function.

Equipment: BOSU® Balance Trainer 1:1 & Exercise Mat

For the best experience we recommend:

  • Using a genuine BOSU® Balance Trainer (any generation) which includes unique and patented features - substitutes may not allow the same results
  • Wearing gym shoes, minimal shoes or non-slip/gripped socks
  • Having a towel handy to wipe sweat or water from surface of Balance Trainer to prevent slipping and avoid potential injury

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss how the integration of multiple body systems (skeletal, muscular, fascial and nervous) results in coordinated whole body movement
  2. Explain and demonstrate how to make Pilates exercises either more challenging OR more user friendly with use of the BOSU® Balance Trainer
  3. Show how to use the BOSU® Balance Trainer with or in place of traditional Pilates equipment and props such as a reformer, step barrel, Cadillac or stability chair
  4. Understand and discuss the differences and functions of the two core systems, Stability Core and Mobility Core
  5. Demonstrate several movement series that each emphasize a different aspect of integrated core training
  6. Express how to progress and regress each exercise for varied levels of fitness
  7. Cue effectively to maximize the core training experience for each participant
